AUTOMATICALLY GETTING LOGGED OUT OF THE CONFIGURATION PAGE

STEP 1: Connect the router hard wired to the computer.

STEP 2: Modify the system date (Date of your computer) to 13th May 2012.

STEP 3: Power OFF the router and power it ON again and restart your computer.

STEP 4: Now open a web browser and type the IP address of the router into the address bar(default is http://192.168.1.1). The default username and password is admin (all lower
case).

Click on login.

You should now be able to Browse the Advanced configuration of the router.

Note: Modifying the system date is a temporary solution. However if you need a permanent solution,upload the latest firmware on the router.

Please download the firmware depending upon the hardware version of your router. The hardware version (H/W ver.) will be mentioned on the white sticker at the bottom of the
router.

If there is no hardware version mentioned on the sticker, then please download the firmware for “DG-BG4011N OLD HW”.

If the hardware version of your router is A1, then please download the firmware for “DG-BG4011N HW A1”.

Now upgrade the firmware as per the following steps:-

STEP 1: Download and store the firmware on your system.

Note: Make sure the router is hard wired to the computer to perform the firmware upgrade.
Updating the firmware over the wireless connection may damage the device.

STEP 2:Change the System Date of the machine from which you wish to upgrade the firmware.

The Date of the system should be set to “13th May 2012″.

STEP 3: Now login to the router using its LAN IP “http://192.168.1.1″.
The default username and password is ‘admin’.

Click on login.

STEP 4:Click on “Management” on top and then “Firmware Update” on the left hand side.

STEP 5:Click on “Choose File” to select the firmware upgrade file. Then Click on “Update Firmware” for upgrading the firmware on the router.

The firmware upgrade process will be initiated.

Once the firmware upgrade is complete then the Login Page of the router will appear.

Login to the router and change the System Date to the Present Date.

You should now be able to Browse the Advanced configuration of the router with the present date on the system.

We would like to inform you that you can block the port number 443 on the router to block the access to the secure websites. This will block the access to all the secure (https) websites through the router.

Kindly do the following steps:-

Step1: Open internet explorer and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. Press enter. Type admin as the username and password. Click Ok.

Step2: Click on Advanced >> Filtering options >> IP Filter.

Step3: Click on Add Filter > Give any name for the rule.
– Interface:- Select the PPPoE interface
– Type: Both
– Default action: Permit
– Default Chain: Both
– Click on Apply.

Step4: Click on Add Rule.
– Check the option “Enabled”
– Protocol: TCP
– Action: Drop
– origIP address: IP address of the PC
– origMask: Subnet mask of the PC
– origStart Port: 0
– origEnd Port:65535
– destIP Address: blank
– dest Mask: blank
– destStart Port:443
– destEnd Port:443

Step 5: Click on Apply.

TO CONFIGURE THE ROUTER :-

Step 1: Access 192.168.1.1 & Login with the username and password as admin >> Success

step 2: Setup>>Internet Setup>>Delete the entries

Step 3: Choose Setup > Setup Wizard.

Step 4: Click Setup Wizard > Next

Step 5: Set the time and date > click Next.

Step 6: Configure the Internet connection.
– Select the protocol and the encapsulation mode: PPPoE
– Set the VPI and the VCI: 0/35
– Mode: LLC
– You need to enter the user name and password for PPPoE.
After setting, click Next.

Step 7: Configure the wireless network.

Change the SSID > Select WPA-preshared key
Enter the password in pre-shared key
Click on Next

Step 8: View the configuration information of the device. To modify the information, click Back.

Step 9: Click Apply.

Open the configuration page of the router http://192.168.1.1
Enter the username as admin and password admin

Click on Advanced>>DMZ
Tick mark Enable DMZ
Enter DMZ Host IP Address
Click on Apply

Try to access the DVR over the internet using the WAN IP >> Success

Strictly recommended to connect the router wired to the PC

– Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape and enter the IP address of your router (192.168.1.1).

– Enter your username (admin) and your password admin. Click on OK to enter the web configuration for the device.

– Click on the Management Tab and then Click on Firmware update on the left-hand side

– Click on Browse button to locate the image file.

– Click on the “Update Firmware” button once to upload the new image file

– The device loads the file and reboots automatically

Do not turn off your device or press the Reset button when the procedure is in progress.

WIRELESS CONNECTION DROP USING DG-BG4011N ROUTER

STEP 1: ACCESSING THE WEB CONFIGURATION PAGE INSIDE THE ROUTER

Open the configuration page of the router by typing http://192.168.1.1 in a web browser.

We recommend this one time configuration to be done using Internet Explorer.

Enter the username as admin and password as admin and click on OK

STEP 2: CONFIGURE WIRELESS SETTINGS

Click on Setup > Wireless.

Then click on Wireless Basic on the left hand side.

Under Wireless Basic Settings, change the Channel Number to 9, 11, 1(Any one of the mentioned channel) and
click on Apply Changes.

Now scan for the wireless networks on your wireless clients e.g. Laptops, smartphones etc. Select your wireless
network and try connecting to the network with the password given on the router then verify the wireless
connectivity.

– Choose Advanced > Parental Control > MAC Filtering

– User Name-Enter the name that identifies your configuration. For example, kids

– Current PC’s MAC Address

– Enter the MAC address of the computer that connects to the device.

– Schedule : Select the time of MAC filter from the drop-down list. You can select always or never

– Apply

Change the date on the computer to 13th May 2012.

Open internet explorer and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. Press enter. Type admin as the username and password. Click Ok.

Click on Advanced>> Network Tools>> ADSL

Keep the following modulations enabled.

G.Dmt, T1.413, ADSL2, ADSL2+

Click on Apply

Click on Management>> System Management>> Reboot

Verify DSL LED status.

If the DSL LED is still blinking, then follow the steps below:-

Click on Advanced>> Network Tools>> ADSL

Keep only the option G.dmt enabled checked and uncheck the rest of the options.

Click on Apply

Click on Management>> System Management>> Reboot

Verify DSL LED status.

Open the configuration page of the router http://192.168.1.1
Enter the username as admin and password admin

Click on Advanced>>Port Forwarding>>ADD

Select WAN Connection:PPPoE

Custom Server:Enter Any Name

Server IP Address: Enter the IP Address

Schedule :Always

External and Internal Port Start and End: 8080
Remote IP: Blank
Protocol:TCP/UDP

Click on Apply

– Access 192.168.1.1

– Login with the username and password as admin >> Success

– Management > Access control

– Account Password > Change the password
> Apply.

ISSUE: NOT ABLE TO CONNECT TO THE WIRELESS NETWORK USING SMARTPHONES

STEP 1: ACCESSING THE WEB CONFIGURATION PAGE OF THE ROUTER


STEP 2: CHANGE CONFIGURATION PARAMETERS

Click on Advanced > Advanced Wireless > Advanced Settings

Now change the DTIM Interval value to 1 and Click on Apply Changes.

Once the settings are saved try connecting to the wireless network of your router using your smartphone and check the connectivity.

Kindly do the following steps:-

– Open the configuration page of the router http://192.168.1.1

– Enter the username as admin and password admin

– Click on Setup>>>Wireless>>Wireless Basic

– Change the wireless network name

– Click on Apply

– Click on Setup>>Wireless>>Wireless Security

– Select WPA only as Security Mode

– Select TKIP+AES as Encryption

– Select WPA-PSK as WPA Mode

– Enter the Pre-Shared key

– Click on Apply>>Apply
