ISSUE: How to Configure in Dynamic Mode

STEP 1: Open the configuration page of the router by typing http://192.168.2.1 in a web browser.Enter the password as 1234 and click on Go.

STEP 2: CONFIGURE THE ROUTER IN DYNAMIC MODE

Click on Advanced > LAN/WAN

Now, click on WAN.

Click on General Setup. Select the protocol as DHCP client. Under Clone MAC manually

type the MAC address of wired computer. Click on Save & Apply.

STEP 3: CHECKING INTERNET STATUS

Click on Status

If you are successfully connected to the internet, you will get numbers like 114.35.54.56
etc as shown below with the option set internet enabled.

Now verify the internet access through DG-BR5400QAC router.

ISSUE: How to Configure in PPPoE Mode

HOW TO CONFIGURE DG-BR5400QAC IN PPPoE

STEP 1: Open the configuration page of the router by typing http://192.168.2.1 in a web browser.
Enter the password as 1234 and click on Go.

STEP 2: CONFIGURE THE ROUTER IN PPPoE MODE

Click on Advanced > LAN/WAN.

Now, click on WAN.

Click on General Setup. Select the protocol as PPPoE. Click on Switch Protocol.

Now enter the PPPoE username and password provided by ISP under PAP/CHAP username and PAP/CHAP password. Under Clone MAC manually type the MAC address of wired computer e.g 00:17:5c:74:56:8c.

Click on Save & Apply.

STEP 3: CHECKING INTERNET STATUS

Click Status.

If you are successfully connected to the internet, the Type will change to PPPoE and you
will get numbers like 114.35.54.56 etc near Address section with set internet enabled.

Now verify the internet access through DG-BR5400QAC router.

ISSUE: How to Configure in Static Mode

HOW TO CONFIGURE DG-BR5400QAC IN STATIC

STEP 1: Open the configuration page of the router by typing http://192.168.2.1 in a web browser.
Enter the password as 1234 and click on Go.

STEP 2: CONFIGURE THE ROUTER IN STATIC MODE

Click on Advanced > LAN/WAN.

Now, click on WAN.

Now click on General Setup. Select the protocol as Static Address. Click on Switch Protocol.

Now enter the Static IP addresses and DNS values provided by ISP.

Under Clone MAC manually type the MAC address of wired computer. Click on Save & Apply.

STEP 3: CHECKING INTERNET STATUS

Click Status

If you are successfully connected to the internet, you will get numbers like 114.35.54.56 etc near Address section with set internet enabled.

Now verify the internet access through DG-BR5400QAC router.

ISSUE: How to Configure in Switch Mode

STEP 1: Open the configuration page of the router by typing http://192.168.2.1 in a web browser.

Enter the password as 1234 and click on Go.

STEP 2: TO CHANGE THE WIRELESS SETTINGS

Click on Advanced > WIFI.
Click on EDIT to change the wireless settings for 802.11bgn (2.437 GHz).
Change the SSID, channel to 9 and encryption to WPA-PSK and cipher to Force TKIP.
Click on Save and Apply.

STEP 3: TO CHANGE THE LAN IP ADDRESS

Click on Advance > LAN/WAN.
Click on EDIT for LAN interface.
Change the IP address of the router in the range of the primary router/Access Point.

Forexample if the IP address of the primary router is 192.168.5.1, then you can change the IP
address of DG-BR5400QAC to 192.168.2.254 as shown below.

STEP 4: TO DISABLE THE DHCP SERVER

Click on Advance > LAN/WAN.
Click on EDIT for LAN interface.
Click on Advance Settings under DHCP SERVER, uncheck Dynamic DHCP option.
Click on Save and apply.

Now power cycle the primary router/Access Point and the DG-BR5400QAC and verify the internet connectivity.

ISSUE: Wireless MAC filtering

STEP 1: ACCESSING THE WEB CONFIGURATION PAGE OF THE ROUTER

Open the configuration page of the router by typing http://192.168.2.1 in a web browser. We recommend this one time configuration to be done using Internet Explorer.
Enter the password as 1234 and click on GO.

STEP 2: GOTO SETUP PAGE

Click on Quit Page.
This option will exit the WIZARD mode and SETUP page will be displayed.

STEP 3: CHECKING THE WAN STATUS

Click on Status.
Check the internet status
The total number of wireless clients connected to the router are also displayed with the respective SSID.
Make sure the wireless settings (SSID and password) are configured on the router.
The total number of wireless clients connected to the router are displayed in the table below under System tab of the router:

STEP 4: CONFIGURE WIRELESS MAC FILTER FOR 5GHz BAND

Click on Advanced.
Go to WIFI
Click on Edit.
Click on Mac Filter.
Under MAC-Address filter, select “Allow Listed only”
Add the MAC address of the client
Click on Save & Apply.

In case you want to block a particular client, you can select “Allow all except listed” underMAC address Filter.
The page shows the client which is allowed to connect to the wireless network of therouter.

STEP 5: CONFIGURE WIRELESS MAC FILTER FOR 2.4GHz BAND

Click on Advanced.
Go to WIFI.
Click on Edit.
Go to MAC filter
Under MAC-Address filter, select “Allow all except Listed”
Add the MAC address of the client
Click on Save & Apply.

In case you want to allow a particular client, you can select “Allow listed” under MAC address Filter.

The page shows the client which is allowed to connect to the wireless network of the router.

ISSUE: How to Secure the Wireless Network

STEP 1: ACCESSING THE WEB CONFIGURATION PAGE

Open the configuration page of the router by typing http://192.168.2.1 in a web browser.

We recommend this one time configuration to be done using Internet Explorer.
Enter the password as 1234 and click on Go.

STEP 2: CONFIGURE WIRELESS SETTINGS

To Configure 5 GHz network

Click on Advanced > WiFi
Now click on Edit or radio0 Master tab to configure wireless settings for 5 GHz network
Under Wireless Advanced settings, change the Operating frequency to AC, Set the desired
Channel and Width as shown below

Click on General Setup. Change the SSID. It is your wireless network name
Select Encryption as WPA-PSK
Change the Cipher type to AES or TKIP

In Key, enter the new wireless password

Note: Make sure that the Pre-Shared Key is minimum of 8 characters which can be
alphanumeric.
Click on Save & Apply

Now scan for the wireless networks on your wireless clients that support 5 GHz frequency
e.g. Laptops, smart phones etc. Select your wireless network and try connecting to the
network with the password given on the router. Verify the wireless connectivity.

To Configure 2.4 GHz network

Now click on Edit or radio1 Master tab to configure wireless settings for 2.4 GHz network
Under Wireless Advanced settings, Change the Operating frequency to N or Legacy, Set
the desired Channel and Width as shown below
Click on General Setup > Change the SSID. It is your wireless network name
Select Encryption as WPA-PSK
Change the Cipher type to AES or TKIP
In Key, enter the new wireless password

Note: Make sure that the Pre-Shared Key is minimum of 8 characters which can be alphanumeric.

Click on Save & Apply

Now scan for the wireless networks on your wireless clients e.g. Laptops, smart phones
etc. Select your wireless network and try connecting to the network with the password given on the router. Verify the wireless connectivity.
