ISSUE: How to configure DG-HR3300TA in DHCP mode?

STEP 1: Open the configuration page of the router by typing http://192.168.2.1 in a web browser.

STEP 2: CONFIGURE THE ROUTER IN DHCP MODE

– Click on Advanced.
– Enter the username as admin and password as 1234.
– Click Log In.
– Click on Network > WAN
– Under WAN settings, change the Connection Type to DHCP(Auto Config)
– Under MAC Clone Settings, select MAC address clone as Enable
– Click on Fill My MAC
– Click on Save

– Once you click on Save, you will get a message on the same screen.
– Click onReboot, to reboot the router and save the changes.
– Do not disturb or power off the router during the process

STEP 3: CHECKING INTERNET STATUS

– Once the router reboots, you can check the status.

– If you are successfully connected to the internet, you will get numbers like 114.35.54.56 etc under WAN Connection inside the IP Address section.

Now verify the internet access through DG-HR3300TA router.

ISSUE: How to configure DG-HR3300TA in PPPoE mode?

STEP 1: ACCESSING THE WEB CONFIGURATION PAGE INSIDE THE ROUTER

– Open the configuration page of the router by typing http://192.168.2.1 in a web browser.

STEP 2: CONFIGURE THE ROUTER IN PPPoE MODE

– Click on Advanced.
– Enter the username as admin and password as 1234.
– Click Log In.

Step 3: ENTER THE PPPoE VALUES

– Now click on Network > WAN
– Under WAN settings, change the Connection Type to PPPoE(DSL/PON), type the username and password provided by the ISP
– If the ISP has given you a service name which is mandatory enter it under Service Name option or else leave it blank
– Under MAC Clone settings, select MAC address Clone as Enable
– Click on Fill My MAC
– Click on Save

Step 4: REBOOT THE ROUTER

– Once you click on Save, you will get a message on the same screen.
– Click on Reboot, to reboot the router and save the settings.

– WAIT FOR THE ROUTER TO REBOOT
– Do not disturb or power off the router during the process

STEP 5: CHECK THE INTERNET STATUS

Once the router reboots you can check the status.

If you are successfully connected to the internet, you will get numbers like 114.35.54.56 etc under WAN Connection inside the IP Address section.

You can now try to access internet.

ISSUE: How to configure DG-HR3300TA in Static IP mode?

STEP 1: ACCESSING THE WEB CONFIGURATION PAGE INSIDE THE ROUTER

– Open the configuration page of the router by typing http://192.168.2.1 in a web browser.
– You will get home page

STEP 2: CONFIGURE THE ROUTER IN STATIC IP MODE

– Click on Advanced.
– Enter the username as admin and password as 1234.
– Click Log In.

Step 3: ENTER THE STATIC IP VALUES

– Click on Network > WAN
– Under WAN settings, change the Connection Type to Static (Fixed IP)
– Type the Static IP values provided to you by the ISP (i.e. IP address, Netmask, Gateway,Primary and Secondary DNS)
– Under MAC Clone Settings, select MAC address Clone as Enable
– Click on Fill My MAC
– Click on Save

Step 4: REBOOT THE ROUTER

– Once you click on Save, you will get a message on the same screen.
– Click on Reboot to reboot the router and save the settings.

– WAIT FOR THE ROUTER TO REBOOT
– Do not disturb or power off the router during the process

STEP 5: CHECK THE INTERNET STATUS

– Once the router reboots you can check the status.

ISSUE: How to Configure DG-HR3300TA in the Repeater Mode?

STEP 1: ACCESSING THE WEB CONFIGURATION PAGE INSIDE THE ROUTER

– Enter 192.168.2.1 in the address bar of the web browser
– Enter the password as 1234
– Click on Login.

STEP 2: CONFIGURE THE ROUTER IN REPEATER MODE
– Click on Setup Wizard
– Click on Next
– Change the IP Address of the DG-HR3300TA in the range of your Main Router/AccessPoint.
– For e.g. if the IP address of your main router/AP is 192.168.2.1, then you can change the IP address of the DG-HR3300TA to 192.168.2.122
– Click on Next.

– Select the Operation Mode as AP Client Repeater
– Click on Next.
– Configure the Wireless Settings for the DG-HR3300TA router.
– Change the SSID. It is your wireless network name
– Select Security Mode as WPA Personal
– In Pass Phrase, enter a new wireless password

Note: Make sure that the password is minimum of 8 characters which can be alphanumeric.

– Click on Next
– Please note that SSID and Password/Pass Phrase may or may not be kept same as the SSID of your main router/access point.
– Click on Scan and Perform Site Survey.
– This will show all the surrounding wireless networks.
– Select the Wireless Network which you want to Repeat
– Enter the Security Key(password) of the main router/access point in the Pass-Phase box.
– Click on Next.

– Verify your Details in Summary
– Click on Save/Apply.

The router is now configured as a repeater.

– Scan for the wireless networks on your wireless clients e.g. Laptops, smartphones etc.
– Select your wireless network of the DG-HR3300TA router and try connecting to the network.
– Verify the wireless connectivity.

ISSUE: How to Secure the Wireless Network?

STEP 1: ACCESSING THE WEB CONFIGURATION PAGE INSIDE THE ROUTER

– Access the configuration page by entering 192.168.2.1 in the address bar of the web browser.
– You will get a home page

STEP 2: CONFIGURE WIRELESS SETTINGS

– Click on Advanced.
– Enter the username as admin and password as 1234.
– Click Log In.

– Click on Wireless> Basic
– Under Basic settings, change the Network Name (SSID) to the desired name you wish to assign to your wireless network
– Note: The SSID should not have a space
– Change the Channel to 9
– Click on Save

REBOOT THE ROUTER

– Once you click on Save, you will get a message on the same screen.
– Click on Reboot to reboot the router and save the settings.

WAIT FOR THE ROUTER TO REBOOT

Do not disturb or power off the router during the process

STEP 3: SET THE WIFI PASSWORD

– Click on Wireless > Security
– Select the network name that you had created in step 2
– Select Security Mode as WPA Personal
– Under Pass Phrase, enter the desired password for your wireless network
– Note: The wireless password must be a minimum of 8 characters.
– Click on Save

REBOOT THE ROUTER

Once you click on Save, you will get a message on the same screen.
– Click on Reboot, to reboot the router and save the settings.

After the reboot process is complete, scan for the wireless networks on your wireless
clients e.g. Laptops, smartphones etc. Select your wireless network and try connecting
to the network with the password given on the router.

Verify the wireless connectivity.

ISSUE: How to enable Wireless Access Control?

STEP 1: ACCESSING THE WEB CONFIGURATION PAGE INSIDE THE ROUTER

– Access the configuration page using IP: 192.168.2.1 in the address bar of the web browser.
– You will get a home page

STEP 2: CONFIGURE WIRELESS ACCESS CONTROL
– Click on Advanced.
– Enter the username as admin and password as 1234.
– Click Log In.

– Click on Wireless> Access Control
– Under Access Policy, change it to Allow. (Note: This setting will allow internet
access only to the clients whose MAC addresses are added, the ones that are not
added will be denied internet access)

– Enter the Wireless MAC address of the clients for whom you want to allow internet access in the format given below.
– Click on Save

Step 3: REBOOT THE ROUTER

– Once you click on Save, you will get a message on the same screen.
– Click on Reboot to reboot the router and save the settings.

WAIT FOR THE ROUTER TO REBOOT

Do not disturb or power off the router during the process

After the reboot process is complete, check internet access on the clients whose MAC address is given above.

Other clients will not be able to access internet.
